James Drake is Vice President, Brand Partnerships at Awesomeness, a media company serving the global Gen Z audience through its suite of digital networks - AwesomenessTV, DreamWorksTV, Awestruck - and its film and television studio arms. At Awesomeness, James oversees helping brands like Hollister, Gatorade, Invisalign, NFL, and JCPenney, among others, connect with their audiences through original entertainment, branded film and series integrations, and influencer marketing. Awesomeness’ branded entertainment work has been the recipient of several awards including Best Branded Content at The Shorty Awards for their work with Royal Caribbean on "Royal Crush," an original branded content series that spanned four seasons.
Prior to Awesomeness, James was the Head of Brand Partnerships at 8tracks, a popular music streaming startup, where he built the sales, operations and marketing teams in New York City, Chicago, Los Angeles, San Francisco and Toronto. He started his career in the ad tech sector, where he garnered extensive experience working with brands in the media and programmatic space.
